The Virginia Beach Boardwalk

The three mile oceanfront boardwalk features an upbeat atmosphere. It's perfect for shopping, site seeing, biking, roller-blading, running, or just strolling. Originally constructed in 1888, the present day Virginia Beach Boardwalk is 28 feet wide and three miles in length. The boardwalk features a separate bike path, making it ideal for strolling, rollerblading and biking.

Entertainment is held from Spring thru Fall on four oceanfront stages at 7th, 17th, and 24th and 31st Streets. The boardwalk showcases a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, bike rentals and other businesses. Other attractions include a variety of nautical sculptures, the most famous being King Neptune. The city's icon is a 24 foot bronze statue located at the Neptune Festival Park on 31st Street.

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk was named as one of America's favorite boardwalks by the Discovery Channel. The area has also
been featured in magazines such as Coastal Living, Southern living, and National Geographic Traveler.
