Virginia Beach is gearing up for the most wonderful time of the year with a flurry of festivities that will transform Virginia Beach into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Celebrations, traditional merriment, holiday shopping events, theatrical performances and winter wildlife tours make Virginia Beach the ideal winter getaway.

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk illuminates joyous cheer this season with thousands of twinkling bulbs in 250 animated traditional and nautical-themed light displays during the 2010 McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach, presented by Ntelos Wireless – the resort’s most anticipated holiday event. Surfing Santas, dancing dolphins and a three-story Christmas tree line the Virginia Beach boardwalk from 2nd to 33rd Streets. Between November 19, 2010 through January 2, 2011, motorists are invited to drive along the boardwalk to the sounds of a complimentary holiday music CD while they marvel at the “fanta-sea” holiday light display. Experience a magical children’s winter wonderland at Hunt Club Farm from November 26 through December 31. Thousands of sparkling lights and hundreds of animated holiday figures come to life for a fantastic journey through the toy workshop. Delight in handmade wreath demonstrations and pick from your choice of Virginia-grown Christmas trees. Visit www.huntclubfarm.com for more information.

Throughout the holiday season, the Founders Inn and Spa will host a variety of festive and seasonal events, including a traditional Christmas Eve dinner at the resort’s famed Swan Terrace restaurant and Breakfast with Santa that will be offered Saturdays and Sundays from December 1 - 19. To make the spirit of the season last even longer, The Founders Inn and Spa is offering special overnight holiday packages complete with deluxe accommodations, turn-down service with complimentary milk and cookies, spa services and more. Elves will even leave young guests a letter from Santa. Visit www.foundersinn.com for more information.
