The Annual Steel Pier Classic is a professional and amateur surfing contest located in Virginia Beach, VA.  It is produced by the Virginia Longboard Federation (VLF), a 501 C3 non profit organization that aids the community through surfing endeavors.  The VLF gets together every Memorial Day Weekend at the best surfing destination in Virginia Beach, affectionately known as The Jetty  to promote the art of longboard surfing.

Seven Cities Steppers is made up of a community of dancers in the Eastern coast of Virginia. Seven Cities Steppers have embraced Chicago Style Steppin, Line Dancing, Hand Dancing and other Swing dances to keep the love of dance and community networking growing.

The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia is a nonprofit, noncollecting institution founded in 1952 to foster awareness, exploration and understanding of the significant art of our time. Regularly changing exhibitions feature painting, sculpture, photography, glass, video and other visual media from internationally acclaimed artists as well as artists of national and regional renown.

The 2009 show features work by more than 90 artists working in media such as oils, pastels, watercolor, acrylics, pen and ink, pencil, fiber, fine jewelry, fun jewelry, blown glass, lampwork glass, stained glass, pottery, photography, and metal. Admission is free; there is food, entertainment, and plenty of parking. Programs with artists info will be given out at the show.
