Recognized for years as one of the top events in the southeastern U.S., hundreds also take part in other competitions including skimboarding, volleyball, an oceanfront 5K run, a swimsuit competition and more. Live bands also perform for free on an oceanfront stage throughout the weekend. Country star Natalie Stovall and The Drive will perform Thursday night, Aug. 21, The Voice semi-finalist Bria Kelly will perform Friday evening, Aug. 22 and the Plain White Ts will take the stage Saturday night, Aug. 23. There are fees to participate in competitions, but all other activities are free and open to the public. For full details and a schedule of events, visit SurfECSC.com. source: City of Virginia Beach
