Hampton Roads 

Virginia Beach is part of the larger Hampton Roads area. This makes Virginia Beach an excellent home base for a family vacation.

Virginia Beach is famous for its sandy beaches, boardwalk, amusements, aquarium, festivals, shops, artwork, saltwater fishing, tour boats, para-sailing and other activities.

Nearby are Norfolk, Little Creek, Portsmouth, Newport News, Chesapeake, Hampton, Suffolk, Richmond and Williamsburg.

Norfolk will interest everyone, with military bases, Navy ships and shipyards, museums, Macarther Center and other spots in the Waterside section of the city.

Newport News is another neighborhood which is home to several museums, attractions, parks, as well as the small boat harbor and seafood industrial park.

Portsmouth has a great park, architecture and nice shopping.

Chesapeake is another nice area which consists of mainly residential and shopping areas.
