The 2014 Pungo Strawberry Festival will be held in Virginia Beach Memorial Day weekend - Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
The festival will be held at 1776 Princess Anne Road. Admission is free, and parking is $10 per vehicle.
Festival attractions include:
- strawberries prepared in over 50 ways
- pie eating contest
- strawberry bake-off
- parade (May 24, 10 a.m.)
- carnival rides
- pig races
- youth art show
- art and craft booth
Virginia Beach 4-H will also be hosting a wide range of activities, including an air rifle demonstration, pony rides, beekeeping presentation, and farm animal exhibit.
During this year's festival, the Food Network will be present on May 23 to film for a new show, "Carnival Eats".
